Our new 2in1 climbing triangle can be used in two variants - folding or fixed with adjustable angle.
The first you build up the structure with the added wooden "hearts" and you get a practical folding triangle. It can be easily fold and save your place. The second fixed version without "hearts" offers the possibility to change the angle, so you can get a low climbing, a classic triangle in the dimensions designed by Hungarian pediatrician Mrs. Emmi P. or straight ribs, which can be attached to the wall. At the same time, in this variant, the triangle is firm and stable, as only the parent can change the angle by loosening the screws and separating the side rails.
The Triangle is a learning aid invented nearly a century ago by Hungarian paediatrician Emmi Pikler. She held the view that children learn and develop best by doing, experiencing, experimenting and overcoming obstacles independently. What they need from their parents is trust, patience and respect. And it is precisely these principles that are embodied in the triangle’s thoughtful design. Using the Pikler Triangle, your children will show you what they can do when empowered by your trust and what it means to go beyond one’s limits.
Thanks to its very simplicity, this robust home gym offers a wide range of uses. By playing with the Triangle, your children will train their coordination and gross motor skills, strengthen their muscles, improve their balance and flexibility, and develop patience and focus. What’s more, combining the triangle with the board accessory opens up a new world of possibilities, letting your children’s imaginations run wild.
One side of the board serves as a climbing ladder; flip it over to use it as a slide, a ramp for toy cars or a bridge. The board is constructed of solid beechwood, the rungs fastened using glue and dowel-joints. There are no visible screws, and all the edges are rounded.
Apart from its good looks, our Triangle is free of unnecessary components that could injure a child or pinch little fingers. We’ve also included other uses and features after extensive consideration, experimentation and testing.
One important aspect of the triangle is the distance between the rungs, which accommodates babies learning to crawl and walk, as well as bigger children who can scramble up the structure all at once. We’ve paid particular attention to making the height of the first rung equal to the distance between the other rungs. When a child takes this first step, their brain registers the height and expects it to remain constant with subsequent steps – the same principle used in stairway construction. This raised first rung also keeps children from tripping or injuring their fingers.
The sturdy beech side rails are attached with a hidden metal connectors, which allows the structure to be positioned at various angles – from a low climbing structure or the classic triangle recommended by Mrs Pikler herself, to fully vertical climbing bars which can be stood against the wall. The triangle can thus be enjoyed by children big and small.
All these features, along with the triangle’s design, are patented.
Due to its size, the triangle is delivered unassembled to save delivery costs. The assembly instructions and wrench are included – putting the triangle together is simple, even for mums on maternity leave or less-than-handy dads?
The triangle also includes a useful accessory – a board that is a ladder on one side, a slide on the other. The board is made from solid beech wood. It can even be used as a ramp for toy cars, a seat, or anything else your kids can dream up – the sky’s the limit!
